Important Signature Updates/Removal

For the past few days i*C and I have been working on a few ways that we could speed up our community site MacCiti.com and we have accomplished what we set out to do and added some features in the process.

MacCiti has always been fast but now it is faster than ever.

We have figured out a way for everybody to easily display there iDevice, iOS, and Computer OS. This feature is easy for everyone to use and only takes a few seconds to set up and uses very little bandwidth.

Benefits:

1. it will take just seconds to update your info instead of having to manually change your image each time you upgrade your iDevice or OS.

2. MacCiti will load quickly and respond quicker.

3. You will no longer have the tedious and repetitive task of asking each person you are trying to help what computer they are using, what iDevice or OS it will all be displayed for all to see.

The biggest improvement to the speed will come with the disabling of signatures. We know that some of you will be upset with this solution, but at the end of the day it is the best solution for MacCiti.

We are asking you to update your profile (it will take you literally less than 10 seconds).

Here is a short tut on how to accomplish this easy update.

How to update:

1. Login to your account (you probably already are)

2. Go to your profile (My Profile)



3. Click on About Me tab



4. Click on the pencil next to iDevice, iOS, and Computer OS



5. Enter your info and select save



This is what it will look like



We will be completely disabling signatures within the next 3 days, so please update as soon as you can.

I say, signature is not just for showing up your device and/or computer.
Paypal, twitter, Facebook (for some ones), personal blog, and a some other stuff... Have u guys thought about this?

Just saying u know... But I'm ok with it.

Great points... we can add peoples sites to the side postbit as well... Have not tested the donate button (if it will work) but that might need to go under personal profile?

would love to be able to link to my twitter and yeah the donate would be a nice touch under the profile ....... I really do like the changes

I will think how we can integrate those two... but generally, I want to make more emphasis on each users profile page... for example, my personal page here at macciti is View Profile: i*C - MacCiti iDevice Forum So our most active members can use that page to ask for donations/twitter/facebook stuff... Not completely sure yet, but thats what I am thinking.

Plus, this will allow people to show case their work here in more organized way I think we want to move into that direction to allow users have their own "profile" and active one on macciti
