Putting themes on Cydia

Only real way to tell if someone is using a pirated version of a tweak or theme is thru the info shared when you email devs thru Cydia.

Well there are other crafty ways that some people like Krs and Fif7y use to know.

I've seen it with the emails I get sometimes. It sucks but it is what it is. The funny part is when they pirate your stuff and ask for help setting it up lol

plane and simple, anyone has the right to put any price tag on anything they want to.. Its the fact of life. Where your frustration should be pointed is that other than the "feature" theme section there is no real way to separate the crap from the great. One mans crap is another mans treasure, quality is subjective and in the eye of the beholder (in a lot of cases beer holder lol).

if someone was dumb enough to buy that theme they probably crapped there pants when they see another theme and buy it instantly.. haha..

Anyway i know your frustration, trust me i do, i have been making themes before you could sell themes on cydia. All we can do is keep making what we think is great. One think i think your miss guided on is using time as a factor on if you think something should be sold for money. Some people are faster than others, and some are more proficient in photoshop or graphic design than others..

You have to just keep on going on with what you feel and not worry about these people with there crazy lame themes and be happy there is great themes. Piracy will ALWAYS be around, and there is not a damn thing we can do about it.. Think about it if multi billion dollar companies cant stop it, its just not going away.

trust me we have tried. Myself and FreeApple actually took two weeks and came up with a replacement and pitched it to jay.. he said no.. I have also tried suggesting Sponsored Advertising and was shut down. Sponsored advertising (paying for a special spot of advertising) would be awesome because it would separate the people that were actually doing this as a business rather than just for the hell of it. A person doing this for a business knows that you have to spend money to make money, so essentially this would separate the men from the boys..lol

The feature theme section is still good and it does keep sales going, but wish cydia its self had more dynamic.

Yea I was talking with Jay bout redoing cydia totally if I can find some of the screens I'll try to post them. Yea he needs to let people help him I think cydia could look really awesome if he would let people help him. I mean people can create a whole new cydia like rock did but I love cydia and will never let jay down so we just need to find some ways for him to get more money and make it look better

I wish they would do paid advertising. I've been doing web design as a business for over ten years with web sites and this is the hardest I've had to work to get my sales moving.

that would be the best place. Advertising your theme is virtually impossible besides modmyi and maccitti. There are a few other places but 90% of the traffic is here. I went as far as to make my own portfolio site frostsplace.com to get my stuff out there. I'm still very new to the iCommunity but been in the design world for over a decade. This is by far the most difficult time I have had. Mainly because our outlets are extremely limited. Unless you have a known name like you from the old days its a TOUGH place to break the ice.

Dude you didn't join before me this is my teams theming channel I'm just using this because it's easier I'm iGoDZ and heck no your not here before me since I started this way before you even knew this existed. The real fact is you iMast and the other dude need to stop complaining bout stealing we knew this way before you even knew what jailbreaking was it's not technically stealing because were not suppose to make tweaks or themes for these devices. And if you really have a problem with this so called stealing talk to Saurik but I'm gonna tell you this he is gonna laugh at your face because he accepts those sources he can block them anytime he wants but he will not because this was suppose to be a free thing that he added money to help people.
