Today I want to give a review of a new Cydia app out called PreviewMaker. It was created by two staples of the iCommunity, @SubyWrex and @FreeApple.
The App was released on Cydia 07/22/2012 with great anticipation from me and many others. One of the many issues and time consuming steps themers have to go through is making screen shots to help make there Themes presentable. Its a marketing tool just like anything else. With the high amount of competition these days when it comes to themes its hard to stand out from the crowd and many times a themes presentation is what separates the men from the boys.
Preview Maker helps to make that happen! With its ease of use, speedy processing, and great tips section it leaves almost no learning curve at all.I myself have been playing with the app for the past few hours and its left me feeling as if I should redo the screens on all of my themes to incorporate the screens made from PreviewMaker.
When you first install the app and open it you are met with a popup asking you if you would like to see the useful tips. I would highly recommend this since it answers many of your questions right away. After you are done going through the tips section its time to make screens.
The app is exactly that. Its a way to make high resolution screenshots of your Spring Board. you get to choose your screenshot from your camera roll and insert it into a very high resolution black or white iPhone frame complete with glare that can be adjusted to suit your tastes.
After the screen shot is inserted you then have the options to Share on Twitter, Upload to DropBox, Upload to Image shack, email it or copy and paste it. The ease of sharing and posting is what makes this app so perfect for themers, bloggers or people who just want to post there Spring Boards to show off.
On top of the options to share your images you have other options first. You can add a water mark to help protect your images from being stolen and shared. Also you create a new album directly through Preview Maker to help organize your images. This app is currently a 1.0 and therefore has a couple of tiny bugs in it but for the most part its one of the least buggy apps I've seen come out of cydia.
In closing I give this app a huge thumbs up and is worth every penny. With its Great UI and ease of use its perfect for the Novice to professional themer as well as Writers, Bloggers, and anyone else who uses iPhone media.PreviewMaker is going for $2.00 on cydia.
